But, there’s a small difference between the two. Samsung Galaxy Y Duos is a full-touch smartphone with a 3.14” display while the Galaxy Y Pro Duos is a touch-and-type phone sporting a 2.6” display with a physical QWERTY keyboard.
Under the hood, each of these devices are home to a 832MHz processor, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, onboard GPS, and of course, dual SIM card slots. Besides that, the devices will come with a 3 megapixel camera and support for up to 32GB of microSD storage.
The Galaxy Y Pro Duos features office and productivity suite that allows users to read and edit documents on the go. Samsung’s ChatON app will enable users to communicate in a content-rich manner with other users.
As Samsung states:
“GALAXY Y DUOS and GALAXY Y Pro DUOS feature a unique Dual SIM system that maximizes communication flexibility by allowing two separate phone numbers and a simultaneous use of data on the same device. Users who need to balance busy professional and social lives can access and seamlessly switch from one line to the other with GALAXY Y DUOS or GALAXY Y Pro DUOS.”
Both the devices, Samsung Galaxy Y Duos and Samsung Galaxy Y Pro Duos are expected to hit the market next year with a debut in the Russian market following which the Galaxy Y Duos will be releases in Europe, CIS, Latin America, Southeast Asia, Southwest Asia, Middle East, Africa and China while the Pro variant will be available in Europe, CIS, Latin America, Southwest Asia, Middle East and Africa.
There’s nary a word or pricing yet, but given the specs of the phones, it won’t be too high for the Y Series phones from Samsung are more or less entry-level smartphones.
