The Best T-mobile/AT&T Phone 2012 For Your Buying Guide

Alongside its more traditional plans and Flexible Boosters, T Mobile/AT&T has announced the Full Monty plan. Laid bare, the plan offers truly unlimited calls, texts and data.

Should you need it, the last of those is tether-able, a massive bonus in today's data-centric world. On top of that is unlimited use of T-Mobile and BT Openzone Hotspots.

For others who do not require so much, Pay Monthly plans come with an "Unlimited Booster". These provide either unlimited texts, landline calls or T Mobile calls and are interchangeable.

With these plans, there are four data options; None, Basic, Standard and Extra. Basic Internet provides a mere 250MB of mobile browsing a month to cater for the more occasional user.

This increases to 750MB and 1.5GB as you move up, but also thrown in, both the Standard and Extra plans do throw in a further 3GB of Wi-Fi data.

Fixed plans are also around for those who frequently overspend, or parents of those who do. Working as a mixture of contract and Pay As You Go, these plans not only stop you from going over your limits, they come with a range of Flexible Boosters to change as you want.

BlackBerry Bold 9900

Until the announcement of the iPhone, BlackBerry were the businessman's phones of choice for their superb secure mailing system, and easy to use keyboards. Continuing this legacy is the Bold 9900. It packs a superb touch screen to show off OS7 and NFC technology on top of a fast processor to cope with just about anything you throw at it - if you're into your Blackberrys, this is the phone to get.

Samsung Galaxy S2

This isn't the first time we've said it and doubtless we'll say it again, despite being almost a year old, but Samsung really developed a smashing bit of kit. The Super AMOLED Plus screen provides an amazing face backed by a zippy processing heart will keep the S2 going strong for some time to come.

Sony Xperia S

Following a high profile divorce settlement of around €1.05 billion, Sony has brought its new flagship device to market. Just looking at it, you know it's a phone that you're not going to be ashamed of showing off to your friends. You won't be disappointed with the innards either, as you'll find NFC, and a truly fantastic 12mp camera.

HTC One X

The HTC One X has bounded onto the scene, and with its HD screen, NFC capabilities and quad-core processor it really is one of the top phones of the moment.
It's running the latest version of Android in the shape of Ice Cream Sandwich, plus one of the best cameras on the market - capable of shooting 99 photos in a row and taking snaps while recording in 1080p HD. In short, one of the best phones around right now.

Nokia Lumia 800

Despite maybe pursuing Symbian for a bit longer than we'd have liked, Nokia has always been a brand you could expect to make a high end bit of kit. We were not left disappointed with the Lumia 800. Its quick and responsive, and the addition of Windows Phone 7.5 is taking Nokia back towards where it once stood - albeit a little slower than the Finnish firm might have liked.

Apple iPhone 4S

Like the aforementioned Galaxy S2, this is a phone that we have mentioned once or twice before. Its rather difficult not to though, as it has a swift dual core processor and stunning Retina Display supported by well regulated and well stocked App store. It might not be the revolutionary device like the original, but with what it brings to the market, it didn't need to be.

Samsung Galaxy S III Specs and Price

The new Samsung Galaxy S III which has a 720p screen, quad-core Exynos processor and the Ice Cream Sandwich Android software is tipped to be one of the best selling phones in 2012. With a flurry of Samsung Galaxy S III rumours hitting the web on a now daily basis, the German arm of online retail giant Amazon has gone one further making the next-generation Android handset available for pre-order ahead of the handset’s official release date.

Samsung Galaxy S III Release Date

Originally widely expected to be the showpiece of MWC 2012, just before the Barcelona based show Samsung confirmed that it would hold off the Samsung Galaxy S III release until later in the year. “The successor to the GALAXY S II smartphone will be unveiled at a separate Samsung-hosted event in the first half of the year, closer to commercial availability of the product,” an official spokesperson for the Korean tech giant announced.

Since Samsung’s disappointing revelation, the Galaxy S III launch has become a thing of much speculation with the tech giant earlier this week issuing official event invites to the launch of a “new Galaxy” event for May 3rd, an event widely expected to see the S III enter the realms of reality.

Samsung Galaxy S III Specs

Far from the first time the third-generation Galaxy S handset has had its claimed specs splashed across the web, recent rumours, which come courtesy of gadget blog Boy Genius Report, suggested the iPhone 4S rival will land with a 1.5GHz quad-core Samsung Exynos processor and Google’s latest mobile operating system, Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.

Further marking the Samsung Galaxy S III out as the leader of the smartphone market, the latest reports have suggested the handset will boast a 4.8-inch display with a stunning Full HD 1080p resolution and a film friendly 16:9 aspect ratio.

Elsewhere am unnamed Korean source has suggested the handset will boast a wireless conductive charging option. Although the reports have failed to indicate whether or not the required, and potentially costly, charging base station would come packaged with the handset, it is claimed the upcoming flagship Android handset will be able to restore its power reserves at a distance of 1-2 metres from the charging base.

Samsung Galaxy S III Price

With the official Samsung Galaxy S III release date expected to be confirmed at the handset’s official unveiling on May 3rd, Amazon Germany has offered eager consumers the chance to snap up the as yet unconfirmed handset earlier than planned handing the potential iPhone 4S rival a Price 599 Euros (£491) price tag.

Suggesting the handset will land with a 12-megapixel camera, the Amazon Germany Samsung Galaxy S III listing has claimed to out the handset’s full specs sheet with a 4.7-inch Super AMOLED display featuring alongside 16GB of internal storage, inbuilt LED flash and Google’s Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system.

The phone sits very comfortably in the hand, and so far we prefer it over the larger handsets that have been cropping up as of late. The high quality construction definitely helps in that area too.

HTC One V running Ice Cream Sandwich out of the box, with HTC’s Sense 4.0 on top. Normally you’d be able to pinch to reveal all your homescreens, but HTC has disabled that on this phone. Graphical transitions on opening folders aren’t the nice, fluid motion we’ve seen on the One X or One S either.

HTC One V Price

If you're in UK and interested in a handset that's reminiscent of the product of a tryst 'twixt Jimmy Hill, Jay Leno and an HTC Legend, then you'll be delighted to hear that the HTC One V is now available to pre-order from the Carphone Warehouse.

It's free if you plump for a two-year deal costing you £20.50 a month and it'll be winging its way to your greasy palms the week of April 23rd, unfortunately without the bottle of bleach necessary to wipe that Jimmy Hill / Jay Leno image from your mind, sorry.

HTC One X Specs

The One X is a phone that's had us intrigued for a while – running a quad core CPU (Nvidia's Tegra 3) plus one of the largest screens on any HTC… and that's without being given a gargantuan name like the Titan.

HTC latest generation flagship model One X-has recently become more concerned about the models and set off a surge of comments boom, domestic and foreign media were given a great deal of concern. One X in appearance giving a different feeling, at least the previous HTC models opened the distance.

In a way, it continues HTC’s design language, rounded body, a black border around the screen and so these elements have still been inherited, but the narrowing of the black border, the more prominent this main body of the phone screen, feel Smart but not heavy; looked from the side, semi-curved body seemed more elegant, but due to the body of a uniform thickness, so unlike the Galaxy the Nexus, “head light foot”.

At the same time, this design will bring the abundance of feel But which one is better is a subjective feeling. One X-measurements is 134.36 x 69.9 x 8.9 mm for the smaller hands of users, single-hand hold may be difficult, do not forget the size of its screen is 4.7 inches better than the Galaxy Note a small number. It weighs 130 grams, excluding the size problem, One X in their pockets, little sense of weight.

HTC One X Price in USA

We’re just excited to see that the time of USA release for these magic hero smartphones is soon approaching! With Android, there’s no news story too small – there’s excitement at every turn for a hardcore Android fan – and in no greater place does it show here at the time of  “we already knew but we’re excited anyway!

Floating Touch Feature on Sony Experia Sola

Interact with the Xperia Sola without even touching it

The new Xperia™ sola announced earlier today, includes a brand new touch sensor technology, called floating touch, that lets you interact with the phone without even touching it

There are two types of capacitive sensors used for touch screens, mutual capacitance and self-capacitance. Mutual capacitance makes multi-touch detection possible. Self-capacitance generates a stronger signal than mutual capacitance, which allows accurate detection of the finger further away from the sensors. However, with self-capacitance it is not possible to perform multi-touch detection due to an effect called “ghosting”.

Mutual capacitance makes multi-touch possible
With mutual capacitance, each intersection of a line in the illustration above forms a parallel plate capacitor. This means that each intersection is a sensor, which allows for true multi-touch since the position of each finger can be exactly measured.

However, because the area of the intersection between two lines is very small, the electrical field of the sensor is also small. Since the field of the sensor is so small, the signal from it has a low strength. This makes it poor for sensing very small signals, like when the user’s finger hovers above the screen.

sony experia sola image
Self capacitance and the ghosting effect
Looking at the graphs above, each X or Y line as whole is a capacitive sensor, in the case of self capacitance. This means that the sensors are larger compared to the mutual capacitance described above. The large sensors create strong signals, which make it possible to detect the user’s finger up to 20 mm above the screen.

When a finger is on or just above the screen, the nearest sensor lines are activated (X1, Y0). If two fingers are detected, ghosting positions occurs since four lines activated. As you can see in the graph above, this gives four possible touch positions (all four activated intersections of X1, X3, Y0, Y2 in the illustration), and the correct combination is unknown. This makes multi-touch impossible.

Combining self and mutual capacitance to allow floating touch
Floating touch™ is solved by running both mutual capacitance and self capacitance, on the same touch screen, at the same time. Mutual capacitance is used for the normal touch sensing, including multi-touch. By running elf-capacitance at the same time, we can detect a finger above the surface of the screen.

However, since the floating touch™ technology depends on self capacitance, it is not possible to perform multi-touch gestures with the fingers hovering above the screen. However, multi-touch will work fine for the normal touch gestures on the screen.

The technology has been developed in cooperation with Cypress Technologies. By leveraging on the existing capacitive touch sensor, and lowering the threshold for touch registration, it will be possible to differentiate between floating touch™ and “normal” touch. All Android™ applications will work perfectly fine, just like before, and only the apps that explicitly “listen” for floating touch™ events will react to them.

iPhone 5 Screen 4.6 Inch with Retina Display Report Says

Once the issues The New iPad uncovered, now have new issues emerged about the arrival of the iPhone 5. A lot of rumors about iphone 5, and one of the rumors that circulated from a trusted source is about iPhone 5 screen will present bigger screen.

Apple is purportedly already placing orders with suppliers for a 4.6-inch iPhone Retina display, Reuters said today, citing a report in South Korea's Maeil Business Newspaper. The phone is due in the second quarter, according to the report.

If accurate, that would be Apple's third device with a Retina display. The others include the just-released 9.7-inch iPad and the 3.5-inch iPhone 4S.

The 960-by-640-pixel Retina display on the iPhone packs in 326 pixels per inch while the new iPad's 2,048-by-1,536-pixel screen squeezes in 264 pixels per inch.

A relatively massive--for a smartphone, that is--4.6-inch glass screen would be a big step for Apple from the 3.5-inch iPhone. A larger phone may also allow Apple to include updated chips such as the A5X. That chip's marquee feature is quad-core graphics.

By comparison, the Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket HD has a 4.65-inch HD Super AMOLED screen.

Apple enthusiast site MacRumors says the likelihood of the rumor being true is low.

"There have been persistent rumors that the next generation iPhone would carry a larger 4-inch screen. And we are convinced that Apple had exactly such designs in late prototype stages in China," said MacRumors.

Indeed, there were reports before the launch of the iPhone 4S that Apple was working on an iPhone with a bigger screen. But those reports predicted a phone measuring 4.2 to 4.3 inches, not a full 4.6 inches.

Samsung Galaxy Pocket Specs and Price

Samsung has added another Android smartphone to their growing Galaxy range with the launch of the Samsung Galaxy Pocket, which is a budget Android smartphone.

Space will always have room for another galaxy, and your pocket should equally have room for this little piece of Android 2.3 TouchWizadry. The Galaxy Pocket has just been announced in London and will arrive in the UK "later this year," bearing a 2.8-inch screen with a 240 x 320 (QVGA) resolution, an 800MHz processor, 3GB of expandable storage. That's an even smaller display than last year's crop of budget Androids, so hopefully this one will be priced accordingly. Full spec table and PR after the break.

iPhone 4S and Siri's Voice Integrated on Mercedes-Benz New A-Class

At next month's Geneva Motor Show, Mercedes will show off the next A-Class and with it, its updated COMAND infotainment system. The user interface has undergone a complete overhaul, ditching the black and beige color scheme for a sharp, modern, three-dimensional design and a range of new features and functions, nearly all of which are centered on the iPhone 4S.

More intriguingly, Mercedes is the first automaker to support and integrate Apple's Siri voice-recognition technology, allowing users to make appointments, send text messages and emails, get weather status and access all their songs through voice commands.

While all these features will be limited to the Euro-only A-Class at first, Mercedes says that the iPhone-integrated COMAND Online suite of services will be coming to the B-, C- and E-Class models this fall.
iphone 4s-siri-mercedes-benz-a-class

Apple has often been called, for better and sometimes for worse, the luxury automobile of personal computers. Now it seems that metaphor has influenced reality as Mercedes-Benz has announced plans to integrate the iPhone and Siri's voice control functions into its new A-Class vehicle, according to a PSFK report.

The Mercedes-Benz new A-Class vehicle will seamlessly merge iPhone 4S functions into the car's in-vehicle display via Daimler's Digital DriveStyle App and COMAND Online multimedia system. While docked in the car, the iPhone 4S will receive an automatic charge and offer access to the device's content as well as social networking applications, including Facebook and Twitter.

The new Digital DriveStyle app allows drivers to stream AUPEO! radio (Europe's equivalent to Pandora), connect with Facebook and Twitter to read out status updates, find your car in a crowded parking lot and get real-time traffic data and point-of-interest searches through a new Garmin navigation system. All of which is available with the entry-level "Audio 20" setup.

But the biggest win here for Apple is the fact that Mercedes-Benz is the first carmaker to offer Siri as a part of its voice control systems. Using Siri, drivers will be able to send SMS text messages and emails while traveling, check location and weather, schedule appointments on-the-go, as well as select from the full menu of music available on their iPhone 4S. This hands-free, mobile control of a device that many consider their primary computer gives us our first real glimpse at what traveling with a virtual assistant feels like.

Nokia 808 PureView Review : 41 Megapixel Super Camera

Nokia 808 PureView Review : Nokia 808 is one of new smartphone 2012 by Nokia included Nokia Lumia 900. I think Nokia 808 PureView is first mobile phone with 41 Megapixel Super Camera. You can see Photo and Video Samples taken with Nokia 808 PureView here.

Nokia 808 PureView Review

Design

Design Nokia 808 is slim, The Nokia 808 PureView sports a rubberised finish and is available in a choice of colours, making it look more like a rugged handset, rather than a range-topper.

The rubber finish adds a nice bit of grip, and while the phones fits reasonably comfortably in the hand, it's quite chunky, particularly at the thickest point, where the camera lens protrudes slightly. It's certainly not a slimline phone, so if you're looking for a svelte model, then this probably isn't the phone for you.

Camera

The big draw here is the 41MP camera. This sort of megapixel count hasn't been seen on a phone before, and is usually limited to medium format pro cameras. The Carl Zeiss lens is teamed with Nokia's pixel over-sampling technology, which has been designed to produce sharp pictures, even in low light conditions, along with the ability to save the images in compact file sizes for easy sharing.

A high megapixel count doesn't necessarily equal good picture quality, so it remains to be seen whether this will be a huge improvement on the N8, but we certainly look forward to testing it our for ourselves.

Features

As well as the camera, the Nokia 808 PureView also offers Dolby headphone technology, along with Nokia Rich Recording Mic tech for catpuring sound with as little inteference as possible. We weren't able to test either of these features on the busy, loud Nokia stand at MWC but we'll certainly be putting the phone through its paces when we can get our hands on a full review, sample.

Screen

The Nokia 808 PureView sports a 4-inch screen. As the phone is being sold on its impressive camera, you might've expected to see a slightly larger screen on which to compose your shots, as well as a resolution higher than the 360x640 that's on offer. Having said that, images are clear and hues are bright and punchy so we can't complain too much.

Performance

The single-core 1.3GHz processor is decidely mid-range, but the UI appeared to operate relatively swiftly, although we found that the camera took a couple of seconds to boot up -not a great start for a handset that's being sold on the basis of a strong camera performance. Battery performance is good. Its strong for super camera 41 MP. For Nokia 808 Specs details here

Nokia has announce the Nokia 808 PureView. This is our first smartphone to feature our exclusive new PureView technology, which completely blows away any prior expectations about the quality of camera phone photography.

Nokia 808 PureView captures over 5x more light. Under normal lighting conditions, performance is also enhanced, as this combination allows for faster shutter speeds, reducing the effects of camera shake.

Five Types of Nokia New Smartphone 2012

There are Five Types of New Smartphone 2012 by Nokia while anounced at Mobile World Congress 2012 in Barcelona. All of Nokia New Smartphone 2012 is using Windows Mobile OS.

Nokia has revealed a bevy of phones that opened new doors in developing markets, pushed the envelope for Windows Phone pricing, and busted the smartphone camera segment right open.

Five Types of Nokia New Smartphone 2012 and Nokia new applications 2012, they are

1. Nokia 808 PureView

Nokia was readying a high-resolution cameraphone but the 41-megapixel Nokia 808 PureView still came as a huge surprise. Based on Nokia Belle, the 808 PureView offers either up to 38-megapixel stills or roughly 5- to 8-megapixel versions which pack the detail from up to eight pixels to every one in the final frame.

The end result is 1080p HD recording in which you can zoom up to four times without any loss of resolution, along with super-rich detailed images. Best of all PureView technology is coming to more than just the 808, though Nokia is keeping quiet on exact product plans

2. Nokia Lumia 610

Nokia Lumia 610; Nokia’s entry-level Windows Phone may not have the ClearBlack AMOLED display of the Lumia 800 or the LTE of the Lumia 900, but it does have a bargain price tag. At €189 pre-tax and subsidies, it’s a new low for Microsoft’s platform

3. Nokia Lumia 900

Nokia Lumia 900; this new DC-HSPA variant is fresh to MWC 2012 today. Out goes LTE and in comes Dual-Cell HSPA, using carrier aggregation in the downlink with networks that support it, with the promise of up to 42Mbps downloads, in theory at least.

No user will ever actually see that speed, but they will get to use the huge display, 8-megapixel camera with 720p HD video capture, and polycarbonate chassis in black, cyan, magenta

4. Nokia Asha 202, 203 and 303

Nokia Asha; Nokia opened up the Asha range at Nokia World 2011 last year, and has three new models today. While phones “for the next billion” might not have the instant allure of the Lumia line-up, they’re testament to Nokia’s remaining strength in pushing down product pricing and delivering smartphone-style functionality in what would traditionally be feature-phones

5. Nokia Drive, Nokia Transport, Nokia Reading and Groupon Applications

New Nokia Apps 2012; Start at Nokia offline mappingreal apps, nokia real time public transportation information apps up to Nokia apps preloaded to Lumias, pulling in news feeds in an easy-to-consume way on your smartphone. The Groupon deal, meanwhile, integrates the daily-deals service into an updated version of Nokia Maps.
